Dear Friends and Family,

I am writing to you today in honor of my husband, Richard (Ric) Sweitzer. For the past 5 years Ric has been ill and is now in end stage liver failure. His doctors at Emory University Hospital have told us that his only option is a life-saving liver transplant.

Ric is a loving husband, father, son, brother and good friend to many. You may know Ric from his years as the Youth Minister at Loving Way in Denver or as the Senior Pastor at Delta True Light and Power in Delta, Colorado. During his 10-year tenure at Delta, Ric single-handedly, and with personal funds, renovated the dilapidated church and Pastor’s home and would not accept offerings from his congregation for the first two years of his Pastor-ship. Others of you knew Ric when he was living in Maryland and worked at the National Security Agency for ten years. Or maybe you know him since his move to the metro Atlanta area 16 years ago.

Not only is a transplant major surgery, it is also very expensive. We have come to realize that funding this surgery is a monumental task since there are so many uninsured transplant-related expenses that must be paid out of pocket. Some of these expenses are deductibles, co-pays, and Ric will be on a lifetime of very expensive anti-rejection medications. This is a challenge we cannot meet alone and desperately need your help.

A fundraising campaign in Ric’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southeast Liver Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only.
