Rita Weiss

On June 1, 2022 Rita had an acute cardiac event. After 21 days in the cardiac ICU she received an LVAD (Left Ventricle Assist Device). This device is a bridge to heart transplantation. There was some hope of heart regeneration; however, those hopes are gone. Rita will need a heart transplant in the near future.

As you can imagine, the cost associated with a heart transplant are extreme. Even with insurance, we are facing many out-of-pocket expenses, such as temporarily moving to New York City, co-pays, rejection medications and ongoing rehabilitation.

Donations to Help Hope Live can help ease the financial burden we’re facing as a family and give Rita the chance to live her life fully as possible.
