A New Heart and a New Life for Robb

My husband Robb Olds, 35, is very ill. After years of dealing with progressive cardiomyopathy, a heart transplant is the only hope for long-term survival. Robb is one of the most determined and supportive people you will ever meet. He is a loving husband and a wonderful father to our young son. To know Robb is to know someone with unwavering confidence and a healthy sense of humor that he shares equally with everyone he knows. He has brought strength to others his whole life and now needs strength for himself and our family. The cost of a transplant can be overwhelming and your help will make a difference.

Robb grew up all over the United States but his family finally settled in Dublin, OH where he graduated from Dublin Coffman High School. From there Robb attended Ohio University studying communications and participating in a number of extracurricular activities including joining a fraternity (Beta Theta Pi) and making life-long friends in the process. After graduation Robb made his way to Procter & Gamble where he spent eight of the last ten years working with amazing people and for a company that he truly feels privileged to be a part of. Unfortunately, after only a few months back with P&G, Robb’s illness worsened and he was informed that the only solution is a heart transplant. Together, Robb and our family continue to move forward and are determined to make it through his transplant and return to our lives.

Transplants can truly give a new life to someone who desperately needs it, but they are very financially draining. Even with insurance, Robb is facing very high expenses including relocating his family to be near the Cleveland Clinic, post-transplant medications of up to $1,200 a month, co-pays, lab fees and more.

To help with the financial burden of Robb’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years.
