Robin McLellan

My name is Robin McLellan. I live with a severe mobility disability, and I am fundraising through Help Hope Live to help pay for my wheelchair-accessible van.

After a serious car accident, I was left with cervical and lumbar spine injuries, multiple herniated discs, and bilateral avascular necrosis affecting both hips, resulting in bone-on-bone arthritis, chronic pain, and severe mobility limitations.

My mobility scooter is essential for functioning outside my home, and the wheelchair-accessible van that transports it makes that possible. Together, they open the doors to independence and help restore dignity. Whether that’s a trip to the grocery store, getting to a medical appointment, or pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors when I’m physically able.

Medical insurance does not cover wheelchair-accessible vehicles, and the monthly cost has become difficult to manage. This fundraising effort is administered through Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit that supports people facing serious medical challenges. Donations are tax-deductible, restricted to qualified medical expenses, and paid directly to approved vendors such as the vehicle’s lien holder (the credit union).

Moving forward, I hope to build a nonprofit initiative designed to help overcome barriers to entrepreneurship for people with physical mobility disabilities like myself, by providing essential tools and resources to help them start or grow their businesses and regain a sense of normalcy and purpose.
