Help Rosa Breathe Easily Again!

Rosa is a 53-year-old grandmother of 6 with her smallest being a newborn grandchild. She has battled with pulmonary fibrosis for 8 years and in the last few years she has needed to use oxygen for the majority of her daily activities. She is a wonderful mother always keeping faith as the cornerstone of the family to fight through this disease that only has one cure – a lung transplant.

She is always ready to serve others and provide love to her family, community, friends and God. She is a very happy woman regardless of the hardships she has faced from having to adjust her lifestyle to consistently have a charged oxygen machine to avoid life threatening cough attacks. Showering, laughing, crying, speaking for extended time all give her shortness of breath which makes it difficult because Rosa loves to share joy!

Rosa’s condition has become advanced and she is in the process of getting her lung transplant in Houston Methodist. She and her husband have been going for evaluation exams and with her team of daughters Erika and Rosie is now in the process of relocating to Houston to receive her life changing gift. We have faith this will increase her lifespan and the comfort of doing all the things she enjoys along with normal breathing in doing everyday tasks and activities.

Rosa consistently attends church, prays for those hurt, has mentored her children to give back to the community through education. She believes anything is possible, if you pray and have faith. Family and friends of Rosa Balderas are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant.
