Ross Garrison

Ross Garrison is a 60-year-old man who needs your help. He has end-stage renal disease (ESRD) that was caused by Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). After years of health struggles, Ross now needs a life-saving kidney transplant.

Ross is originally from the Lansing, MI, but moved to Florida with his family in the late 60’s. From there he migrated to the Charlotte, NC where he now resides. Working as a mechanical designer/engineer, he has been with his current company for 23 years. Seven years ago Ross learned that he had PKD – the same illness that claimed the life of his mother in April 1973 (long before any technology was available to detect it). He also has been through two double partial nephrectomies, (removal of 60% of each kidney through surgery), and he has no option left but to have a transplant soon. He and his family are staying positive and are ready for the transplant to help him re-start his life

Transplants are life-saving, but financially draining. Even with insurance, Ross is facing high uninsured expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, doctor visits and the costly immunosuppressant medications that he will need to take for the rest of this life (estimated at $1200/month). This, in addition to the fact that he will be unable to return to work for at least three months, has placed a financial burden on him that he cannot meet alone.
