Samantha Lewis

Family and friends of Samantha Lewis are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund home modifications, a handicap accessible vehicle and uncovered medical expenses associated with her Catastrophic Illness.

The family has worked tirelessly to keep Samantha in the home with her three girls and husband of 15 years. She became disabled in 2021, after she was found unresponsive in a bank parking lot. It was months before her medical team was able to diagnose her. She was diagnosed with a rare neurologic disorder that causes her to become unresponsive. This state is brought on by sudden movements or sounds/lights. She is often found in her dark bedroom. She isn’t able to travel or get around her home comfortably, due to the home needing handicap modifications like rails and grab bars. Recently, Samantha’s family was hit with another medical hardship – Cancer. She will have surgery in the near future at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Samantha has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors.
