Meet Sam McCombie, a General Engineering contractor, and Stone Masonry Restoration Specialist with a knack for building or fixing anything.

But when it comes to his liver, well, let’s just say he wasn’t holding up so well. Sam has had a liver autoimmune disease for years which depleted his liver function to a measly 5%. During the last few months, his condition had deteriorated and the need for a transplant became more eminent. Sam was an ideal candidate for the liver transplant program at IMC because of his young age and otherwise healthy physical condition. With just 21 days from application to transplant, the Intermountain Health Liver Transplant crew gave him a new liver and the chance at a full and healthy life. He’s overwhelmed by the selfless gift the donor and their family have given him. He is also grateful to the whole crew at IMC who have and still care for him during this long recovery process.

After his transplant, he spent 22 bumpy days in the hospital but now he’s ready to heal at home as he continues to recover and looks forward to getting back to work. He feels as though he’s been granted a fresh lease on life, allowing him to prioritize his cherished family and friends in this blessed journey. Let’s help him pave the way to a healthier future!
