Sandy Howell

Mom’s are wonderful people, giving us our first experience of love, compassion, and joy. Our mom, Sandy Howell is no different. Her children always knew that she was loving and supportive.

Sandy settled down and had her own family of three, two girls and a boy… one of each she loved to say. (The youngest girl was a tomboy growing up.) Before long, Sandy found herself a single mom raising her children. Never one to stop, while raising her children, she was also a youth group leader in her church. She became like a second mom to some of those kids, encouraging them right along with her own.

Sandy has always been devoted not only to her children, but her family as well. After raising her children, she moved across the country to help care for her grandmother whom she had adored since her childhood. When her time there done, she moved back across the country to spend time with her new grandchildren. In just a few short years, she was off again, moving out if state to be there for her mother.

Sandy has always been one to put not only her children first, but her family. Now it is our turn to help her. Sandy’s diagnosis of Hep C in 1998 was a shock. She was diagnosed with one of the worst strains and not given much hope, maybe 10 years. Yet, here it is 21 years later and she is still with us. The first two treatments were difficult and unsuccessful. The third put her in remission. But along the way, her liver has suffered. She is in need of transplant and in need of support through this process.

We would love to have our mom here with us for many more years. She will be filled with hope for a second chance. Thank you for your support in this time.
