Sangita Parab

On June 17th, 2020, Dr. Sangita Parab suffered a brain hemorrhage due to a ruptured brain aneurysm.

She was in a coma for weeks but slowly regained consciousness in the past two months. Currently she is in a care facility receiving therapy and full time care and slowly recovering.

Dr. Parab was the 213th President of Richmond County Medical Society 2019-2020- a part of the Parent organization-Medical State society of New York! She conducted her year in service with a mission in mind: to educate the women in our community about Health education so that they may care for themselves, their children and their families in a better way! She organized a very ambitious first of its kind Health Education Seminar/Fair on March 29th 2020. Alas, COVID19 destroyed those plans. Undaunted, Dr. Parab submerged herself in the care of the sick- her calling in life! Though she saw many scour through their illness stricken with COVID19, she fell victim to cerebrovascular hemorrhage after handing over the gavel to her successor at Richmond County Medical Society in early June 2020, at the prime of her professional life- age 45.

We invite all to place themselves in her shoes- a consummate dedicated professional, a devoted mother to two teenage kids, a concerned physician of NY State who actively contributed her time to her Medical Society to forge the way for the youngsters to follow- all taken away in a flash! She needs ongoing long term care for several years in facilities before she can be a useful contributing member of the society. As you may know, long term care is expensive and is not covered by medical insurance, so we are facing many out of pocket expenses for home modifications, therapy, and medical bills.
