Sarah Evans

Sarah is a wife and mother of 6 children who has tried to make the best of life despite her diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. Over the last 8 years, Sarah has made a rapid decline from playing in the playground with her kids to being wheelchair bound and requiring assistance from her husband with transfers. This decline has Sarah and the family worried about what is to come ahead.
Sarah currently does chair movements for exercise but what would be amazing and potentially life improving is a piece of exercise equipment called the MyoCycle from MYOLYN. It is an FDA approved rehabilitation exercise bike that is made just for wheelchair bound patients with paralysis or muscle weakness to achieve the much-needed therapeutic exercise using their own leg muscles. This Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) bike is designed for people with motor disabilities like Multiple Sclerosis with the goal of increasing muscle strength with muscle re-education to improve her physical function and quality of life. This is designed to help people with paralysis or muscle weakness to help maintain their health and hopefully improve painful muscle spasms, increased blood circulation, prevent further muscle atrophy, improved cardiovascular health and improve quality of life.

Sarah has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Donations made in honor of a specific individual, or in response to campaign solicitations, are restricted by region only and do not obligate Help Hope Live to allocate funds towards a specific individual, as the IRS would deem such donations to be private gifts, which are not tax deductible.
