Sarah Failla is need of a kidney transplant. As a young mom of 3 boys, she is asking for your help.

In 2009, Sarah was diagnosed with Kidney Disease, something that has run in her family for generations, yet still caught her off guard to be facing at age 34. For the last 5 years she has been in stage 4 Kidney Disease, but as of the last 3 blood tests her kidney function has lowered and she is in end-stage renal (kidney) failure. In December she was evaluated at UCLA Medical Center and doctors now say a transplant is critical for Sarah.

The physical effects of this disease are starting to take a toll on her in the form of fatigue, nausea, itchy skin and sleeplessness. She looks forward to having energy again post transplant.

The average kidney transplant costs approximately $335,000. Even with health insurance, which will cover the cost of the transplant, she still faces significant medical expenses related to the surgery. She will need a lifetime of follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. These medications are very costly, and they’re as important to her survival as the transplant itself. Her transplant center is 200 miles from her home resulting in substantial expenses for travel, food and temporary lodging post-transplant.

Sarah has spent her life serving others. As a missionary from the ages of 17-33 working in numerous countries and living in 5 of those leading a long term team with her husband (and 2 boys at the time) in Central China. After being in the States for a couple years they fell in love with a small faith community and now have been pastoring that same community for 5 years. Along with keeping up with 3 active boys, Sarah is also a Life Coach and Weight Loss Accountability Coach for busy moms.

Family and friends of Sarah Failla are raising money through the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with the need for her kidney transplantation, and for post-op care at UCLA Medical Center.
