Sarah-Jaana is a passionate advocate, community builder, and fighter. Though their disability does not define them, it significantly impacts every aspect of their life. Sarah-Jaana lives with six rare diseases that require continuous, life-sustaining care including monthly infusions, custom medical equipment, and between two to four surgeries each year for the past five years, this year bringing the total to 26. These treatments are essential but come with overwhelming financial challenges.

Despite their own complex medical needs, Sarah-Jaana has dedicated their energy to supporting others. They founded a volunteer group focused on uplifting the disabled community, using hard-earned experience and collective resources to ensure no one feels alone in their struggles. When not navigating their own health battles, Sarah-Jaana works tirelessly to advocate for and assist others facing similar challenges.

Now, it’s Sarah-Jaana’s turn to ask for help.

Living with rare diseases means facing unique emotional, physical, and financial burdens. Sarah-Jaana relies on custom knee braces, a motorized wheelchair, specialized treatments, and ongoing infusions just to sustain a basic quality of life.
