Help Sarah get through her heart transplant journey and back to living life again!

Sarah is currently a 35-year-old stay-at-home mom. She has had a long journey with her health. Starting from when she was 27 months old, she was diagnosed with liver cancer and had to go through nine months of chemotherapy. The therapy caused her to lose some hearing and weakened her heart. Thankfully, after removal of that tumor and treatment, she was in remission for many years. However, with the birth of her first child, cardiac issues arose in 2007. She also had a stroke during that time. The cardiac issues were factors in losing 2 pregnancies. With each pregnancy, her heart significantly got worse; therefore, her physician has been trying to manage her health with medication and diet changes. However, at this point, her health has gotten to the point where she is being considered for a heart transplant.

Sarah loves taking care of and spending time with her two wonderful children. Fun facts about Sarah: She is obsessed with Paris – it is on her bucket list to travel one day; she is a major foodie; she loves to travel and hopes to travel more to experience the world. She loves going to Disneyland. She is very creative – art, music, and dancing. She is shy around new people, but once you get to know her, she definitely opens up. She is cheerful and helpful. She has been a bright light in the lives of everyone she knows.

Since her most recent heart failure, she has had to spend a lot of time in and out of the hospital. She has had to be on a strict diet, which is a struggle for her because she is a foodie. She has to cook for herself rather than eating out with family and friends, missing out on a lot of social time. She’s not able to travel much anymore due to being short of breath. It is hard for her to sleep at night. She suffers from palpitations. She spends most of her time being very tired. She retains fluid most of the time which makes her self-conscious about her looks. It has been difficult for her to play with her children or to be active with them, which is an exceptional hardship for her. It makes her feel like she is not able to be the full mother she wants to be.

Since Sarah has had to leave her job due to health issues, her household income has been greatly reduced. She had to surrender her car. She has gotten behind on monthly bills, and it is hard to provide basic necessities for her children. Donations to Sarah’s campaign will help with basic necessities and medical copays. As she moves towards being listed for a transplant, she will have to travel to another city, and will need help covering the costs for herself and her caregivers.

Sarah hopes that her heart transplant will help her get back to her normal life. She looks forward to resuming work and being able to travel and be active with her family and friends. She really looks forward to being able to eat normally again. Maybe she could even open up her own food truck!

Please donate to Help Hope Live in Sarah’s honor, and ask your friends and family to give, too! We would love to plan some fundraisers in Sarah’s honor, too. Thank you for your generous support!
