Scarlet Newland

Family and friends of Scarlet Newland are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with Diagnosis of Trisom18 also known as Edwards Syndrome.

Scarlet and their family have encountered some bumps in the road this last year. In August 2023 they had to remove Scarlet from her school because a teacher tried to put a toy in her mouth to keep her quiet, but her nurse stepped in to protect her. Then in the end of October Scarlet got hurt and the family struggled to find a doctor willing to help her. It took over 6 months to find a doctor willing to assist her. In the middle of dealing with her injury in December of 2023 Scarlet lost her medical insurance she has been on her whole life. After a long process of fighting with the insurance company she could not get back on her insurance. She has also lost all of her therapies due to this which she needs tremendously. Her new insurance now costs over $10,000.00 per year which we are struggling with we are blessed to have a family that has helped us where they can, but we have other needs that we can now not do. We need to get a Handicap Accessible Vehicle to get her and a Handi-Cap shower ( which we planned on during in the next year but with the new expenses we can not get it.

Scarlet has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors.
