Scott Needs a Heart Transplant!

Scott Rozeboom is only 37 years-old, and he desperately needs a lifesaving heart transplant. In the Summer of 2015, Scott went to the ER complaining of back pain. It was then that doctors diagnosed Scott with a severe and progressive form of congestive heart failure, and told Scott he would eventually need a new heart. Without a transplant, since his heart is only functioning at about 13%, Scott was given only 6-12 months to live. Scott needed an LVAD machine, or a left ventricular assist device, which will temporarily sustain his new heart and act as a bridge until a new heart becomes available. Scott has been in and out of the hospital while he waits for his transplant, and undergoes extensive medical testing at Meijer Heart Center Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI while he waits for the call that could save his life.

Scott is currently unable to work due to his health, and looks forward to the day he can once again support his family. Scott was once employed in a factory job, however, due to the stress on his heart, he had to stop working. Scott is now a stay-at-home dad and goes above and beyond for his family, including his mother-in-law who also has medical issues of her own. Scott is married to his loving and supportive wife Jessica, and they have four wonderful children together ranging in age from eight to fifteen.

While Scott prepares for his heart transplant, his out-of-pocket medical expenses continue to rise. Co-pays, deductibles, medications, living expenses, and medical appointment fees are quickly adding up. As he gets closer to surgery, Scott will be required to travel and temporarily move closer to the transplant center, have a full-time caregiver, and take costly anti-rejection medications that are needed for the rest of his life. These costs are expected to be upwards of $20,000 and Scott needs your financial support.
