Serena Veach

Dear Friends, Family and Community,

My sister, Serena Veach suffers from COPD and Emphysema. She is dependent on oxygen 24/7. Her doctors have told us that her only option is a life-saving lung transplant.

Serena is 45, a loving wife, mother of three, sister and good friend to many. Due to her poor health, she is no longer able to work, do what she would like for her children and many other activities that most of us take for granted. Even the simplest chore is a struggle for her. She requires full time care and I am able to be with her so that her husband Darren can continue to work to provide for their family. She looks forward to being involved with her family, returning to work and becoming an active member of the community again.

As you can imagine, not only is a lung transplant life saving it is also very expensive. Even with insurance there are many expenses that must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, lab fees and Serena will be on a life-time of very expensive medications. This puts Serena and her family up against a challenge they cannot meet alone and need your help.

To help with the financial burden of Serena’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted non-profit organization that has been providing community based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years.
