Shannon Modene

Family and friends of Shannon Modene are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with kidney transplantation.

Shannon and his wife Kris live in Wells, MN with their four children, ages 14, 8, 7, and 2.

In February 2018 Shannon was hospitalized with severe abdominal/back pain. He was eventually diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease. A month later he was hospitalized again in severe pain and very anemic. More tests and a few blood transfusions later he was released home. Close monitoring with his primary and kidney doctor he was recommended to start dialysis the summer of 2019. Shannon and Kris underwent training and have been performing hemodialysis at home since September 2019. Shannon works full-time driving truck locally and comes home to dialysis five times a week, approximately 3.5-4 hours each session, along with family life with four kids the oldest of whom has Rett Syndrome and needs 1 on 1 cares for all of her needs.

Shannon has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors.
