Sharon Desperately Needs Your Help

Sharon is a wife, mother of 4, and grandmother of 8. She has worked most of her life, primarily as a relay operator for the deaf and hard of hearing. Sharon and her husband, a Veteran, have operated a small business in the past to supplement their income. They sell primarily on military bases, and also at area craft shows. But being on dialysis has severely limited how much she is able to travel to different shows, thus the need for a transplant, versus dialysis for the rest of her life.

Sharon’s long battle with high blood pressure and genetics, contributed to her diagnoses of kidney disease in November 2017. The disease has moved fast and has already progressed to End Stage Renal disease. Sharon is currently doing dialysis treatments 3 days a week for 3 hrs each session and has out of pocket expenses for this life giving medical treatment. Sharon needs a kidney to survive. Sharon has undergone 10 surgeries and procedures related to, or as a result of her kidney disease and is currently going through testing to receive a transplant. Once she receives a transplant she will require life-long medications which will cost up to $400 per month out of pocket.

While Sharon has health insurance, she is responsible for 20% of all covered expenses, which is already at an amount over $10,000. In addition, there are many expenses that are not covered, which she will be fully responsible for.

Your donation to Help Hope Live will help ease the financial burden of dialysis, medications, and eventually transplant. It will also help Sharon to focus on a longer and more healthier life ahead with her children and young grandchildren.
