You may or may not be aware that my dad has been cancer free (Hodgkin’s lymphoma) for almost the past 6 years. His recovery journey has not been easy, but he has overcome every challenge with a smile, determination, and a couple of jokes. He is now facing another medical challenge in the form of a failing liver, and the cost is no laughing matter. My dad will need a liver transplant and is currently on a list to receive one. Because of the severity of his condition, it is likely that he will need to have the transplant within the year.  

While my parents have insurance, the expenses associated with the transplant, recovery, and lifelong medications can be quite cumbersome for any individual and insurance only covers some, not all of the medical expenses associated with the transplant.
Both my parents will need to take a lot of time off of work as well, which will impact their income. My siblings and I are looking to curb some of the costs by turning outward and asking for help. We understand that everyone’s circumstances and abilities are different, and though it may sound cliché, anything helps.
 
The transplant before, during and after will impact my parents ability to work, my father as the recipient and my mother as a caregiver, so my siblings and I will do our best to help, but we are also asking for your help.  We understand everyone’s circumstances and abilities are different, and though it may sound cliché, anything helps.  Please consider a donation so my father can concentrate on being whole and healthy once again.
