Shawn White

My name is Shawn White, and as difficult as it is for me to say, I need your help! After struggling with cardiac antibody mediated rejection for the last four years, I have begun to lose the battle and doctors cannot predict how long I have. My survival is dependent on a heart- kidney transplant. After a yearlong search spanning over 1500 miles and multiple hospital denials I have finally found a hospital that will take a chance and perform the operation. However, the only way for this to happen is for me to relocate across the country. Not only would I need to relocate for up to 6 months but my cost of living would increase by more than 50%.

After becoming a heart transplant recipient at the age of 16, I made a deliberate effort to enjoy and appreciate every day, living my life to the fullest. I say there is no such things as a bad day, just some days are better than others. After graduating from Oklahoma State University with a degree in health science my journey in life has been to help and inspire others. I want to be the catalyst that helps people reach their full potential. I am not satisfied, my work is not complete, and I have not affected enough people yet. Please help me, help change the world.
