It is with great sadness we report that Sherri C (Seay) King passed away on September 12, 2026. Family and friends have been working with Help Hope Live to raise money to help finance uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation. 

In loving memory of Sherri, Help Hope Live will continue to accept charitable donations to help defray uninsured costs that were incurred. Sherri had chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because the nonprofit organization provides both tax-deductibility to the full extent allowed by law and fiscal accountability to contributors. Sherri is fundraising for her out-of-pocket cost of a heart transplant.

This surgery and the location of the transplant is outside of her health insurance network. Sherri had a defibrillator and pacemaker combo placed after a medical crisis thought to be a heart attack after no known heart issues. This was a huge surprise to both Sherri and her family, since then she has had nothing but issues with her heart messing up with episodes of ventricular tachycardia and also the device failing and not shocking her heart back into rhythm or shocking her nonstop when not needed.

Things settled down a bit but in October 2023, she traveled to Washington to be with her daughter for the delivery of her first grandchild, when she traveled back to Arizona she was having lots of problems with her device and was in and out of the hospital for 5 months.

They finally discovered a new heart issue that was causing these issues called DSP Cardiomyopathy, after multiple ablations, surgeries and tests they broke the news that nothing will help and that the next step will be a heart transplant.

Sherri has four children, two adult children in Washington and two at home with her in Arizona whom she adopted 10 years ago. Sherri loves spending time with her family and if she’s in Washington you’ll find her at the beach surrounded by family.

Since her most recent diagnosis, she has not been able to leave the house due to her heart rate going crazy with any major walking or work. She has been devastated not being able to travel to Washington to see her other two children or be with her new first grandbaby. Sherri finds it hard to get simple tasks done like chores around the house or going grocery shopping due to her heart not functioning correctly, it causes her to be out of breath and get very tired.

She has also developed severe anxiety from the unknown of what is going to happen in the long run and being scared to get out of the house or do anything with her young children with fear she may have a cardiac episode.

Sherri and her family are fundraising for the costs of all the testing needed to get a transplant and the transplant itself. She will need these funds for all of the travel costs and post transplant appointments she will entail after the surgery and anything else that comes along financially from this procedure.

Help Sherri get back to the healthy family oriented person she is.
