Appomattox Artist Sonny Harlow in Need of Kidney Transplant

Sonny Harlow is known all over Central Virginia for his beautiful artwork, from murals to furniture. His talent can be found all around Appomattox, Lynchburg, and the surrounding areas. He has been painting for 30 years but hit a rough patch in 2015 when his kidneys failed, resulting in his need for dialysis three times every week.

Sonny has completed all testing needed to become active on the kidney transplant list at UVA and now needs your help!

Sonny is known to many in this area for his generous, sincere, gentle character. He prides himself on being trustworthy, dependable, and a man of his word. His artwork brings smiles to people all over Central VA and he wants to be able to continue his legacy. He has maintained his positive attitude throughout these difficult last few years, but he is ready to get his life back on track with a new kidney.

Sonny will need help financially during his surgery and recovery after transplant. He will be out of work at least several months and will have to make weekly visits to UVA for follow up. Your donations can assist Sonny and his family with the cost of transportation, lodging in Charlottesville, food, and bills while he is recovering.
