Help Stacey Live(r) More Life!

In July 2022, we started noticing worsening jaundice of Stacey’s eyes. She made a GI appointment, but ended up feeling faint and heading to the ER at Frederick Health Hospital. We learned her bilirubin was extremely elevated. As doctors tried to balance her labs unsuccessfully, we learned she was in liver failure. A little over a week later, she was transferred to Johns Hopkins where she is now awaiting a liver transplant. Your donations will help the Ford family to cover the extensive medical costs of the transplant journey.

For those who know Stacey, we would describe her as outgoing, welcoming, caring, kind, and compassionate. Stacey devoted most of her adult life to facilitating children’s religious education at the Catholic Church. In her free time, she taught many of the neighborhood kids how to swim. A collegiate swimmer, she is passionate about building strong swim skills in children and teaching them how to navigate the water. She has always been involved in her three daughters extra curricular activities, supporting them wholeheartedly in whatever they chose to do. Stacey always wanted to have a home that was open to her children’s friends, “home base” as she called it. She welcomed our friends with wide open arms and considered them family, too.

Donations will help us to cover so much: hospital and doctor’s fees not covered by insurance, transplant related medications (many are lifelong) and copays, home health care, medically recommended rehabilitation and therapy, travel and temporary relocation of family caregivers, travel to and from Johns Hopkins for appointments, and medical equipment and supplies.
