Staci Frisk

On February 14th, Staci Frisk’s mom and dad received a chilling phone call from Eskenazi Hospital asking them to get to the hospital quickly! Their youngest daughter, Staci, age 31, became an innocent victim, when the car she was a passenger in was fired upon nine times. Three of those gun shots hit Staci, leaving her fighting for her life!

Although Staci suffered many injuries, the most devastating was a bullet to her spinal cord leaving her paralyzed from the chest down. After two months in the hospital, Staci was transferred to acute rehab, where she is working hard to regain some use of her right arm and hand. Before her injuries, Staci was active with her sons; riding bikes, reading books and playing at the park. Staci has always enjoyed writing poems and words of inspiration for family and friends. She feels blessed to have partial use of her hand and right arm and is determined that with hard work she will be able to return to her writing.

Staci will be moving home with her parents. The Frisk family home will need major modifications to accommodate Staci’s needs. In addition, she will need vehicle modification, adaptive equipment, additional rehabilitation therapy and so much more. Due to the extent of the injuries, the full financial impact is currently unknown. We do know that she will need a lifetime of care.
