Stephen was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy 3 years ago. There is no cure but he is on a drug trial to slow progress of the disease which has left him completely immobile and unable to walk. Anytime we need to take him anywhere we have to lift him in and out of his folding wheelchair which hurts his legs after a while, and it’s taken it’s toll on our backs as he’s gets older and heavier.

He was just approved for an electric wheelchair but we have no way to transport it. We are therefore trying to save for a Handicap Van with a ramp so he can just roll up and and buckle down and we no longer have to strain our backs lifting him in the car constantly. He even missed his own great grandmother’s funeral due to transportation issues.

We are reaching out to everyone to help raise the remaining funds for a wheelchair accessible van for our son.

Our family and friends are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live in honor of of Stephen McGrath to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with his Catastrophic Illness.
