Dear Friends, Family and Community,

My son, Storm Smith (23), suffers from end- stage renal failure. His doctors at the Medical University of South Carolina have told us that he is in need of a life-saving kidney transplant. The good news is that I am a perfect match and will be his living donor.

When Storm was 15, he was preparing to go to the University of South Carolina football camp and doctors discovered a problem with his kidneys. After numerous tests, medical procedures, and a multitude of medical “experiments”, his doctors were able to treat his condition with medication and diet.

He has gone on to pursue his passion at the Culinary Institute of Charleston hoping to help others by teaching them to cook in a way that will maintain good health thru nutrition and diet. Unfortunately, with two semesters away from graduation, Storm’s health has deteriorated and the medications and diet can no longer sustain his young and purposed life.

A transplant is life-saving and also very expensive. Even with insurance there are many expenses that must be covered out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, and Storm will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications. This is where your help is desperately needed.
