Sue Domhoff

From Sue’s Family:

Sue is a 59-year-old wife, mother of two, and a proud dog mom who loves camping and spending time with her sisters and family. If you know her, you know how much she lights up a room with her laugh and her huge heart.

In 2015, she was diagnosed with COPD, a progressive lung disease that made it harder and harder for her to breathe, despite her strength and determination. After years of battling the disease, it was decided the best course of action would be a lung transplant.

Last August, she began the extensive process of gaining approval to be placed on the transplant list.

Finally, on Monday, July 7th she was officially put on the transplant list.

On Tuesday, July 8th, 2025, after only 16 hours of being on the transplant list, her wishes were granted.  Thanks to a generous organ donor and their loving family, she received a double lung transplant—a second chance at life. We are beyond grateful, but the journey ahead is just beginning.

She faces a long and difficult road to recovery, including:

– A prolonged hospital stay

– Ongoing rehabilitation

– Life-long medications to prevent rejection

– Frequent follow-up visits and specialized care

We’ve started this fundraiser to help offset the overwhelming medical costs related to her transplant and recovery. These include hospital bills, medication expenses, travel for treatment, and future care needs. Our goal is to ease the financial burden so she can focus fully on healing.
