Suzi Now Needs Our Help

Suzi Selk is a 58 year old woman who was in desperate need of a liver transplant. On June 22, 2015, Suzi received the liver she needed, but it was almost too late. The consequences were devastating, both physically and financially. While the average transplant patient can be expected to be back home in a week, Suzi was hospitalized for a month, spending most of this time in ICU.

Suzi is a very generous person, who now needs our help. Suzi has three children, and two grandchildren. She has lived in Wellsville for over 45 years and has supported many causes along her way. Suzi worked for Calley News Group in Lenexa, KS, and hopes to someday return.

Transplants are life saving, but financially draining. Suzi was in ICU for over two weeks just for her last visit, and two weeks of acute rehabilitation. Even with her insurance, Suzi is facing very high expenses including post transplant medications, which could run up to $1200 a month, copays and lab fees. The medical bills that she accumulated leading up the transplant completely drained her resources.
