Ta’Tanisha Jones

Family and friends of Ta’Tanisha Jones are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant. Ta’Tanisha has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.

My name is Ta’Tanisha Jones. I am 48 years old and work as a Jail Liaison. I’ve lived a normal and active life. Until I was diagnosed in 2017 with Sarcoidosis/Autoimmune. Throughout the years the disease has progressed. Which has affected my lungs, which is called Pulmonary Sarcoidosis. I have been trying to manage my health through medications and some diet changes. Until I took ill in 2024 where I was hospitalized and released on oxygen. I have been approved for a lung transplant and is waiting to be listed for a donor to become available.

In the past I’ve enjoyed going to the gym, walking, socializing, & spending time with my family. I enjoy gospel music, singing, dancing and laughing. The first thing people noticed about me is my smile.

Since, my diagnosis my appetite has changed drastically, I struggled at times to do long activities, I cough daily which causes me to struggle to catch my breath. Talking and walking has become difficult for me. I have joint pains, chest pains, and flare ups.

I am fundraising for the cost of relocating to be closer to my transplant team, as I will need to stay nearby before and after my release from the hospital. I will need to pay for co-insurance for the surgery, medications, and any other expenses. My team estimates this will cost about $20,000. This amount could double or triple if I experience any setbacks or complications.

This is a huge life altering change for me. But I want to be able to breathe, walk, maybe even jog again. laugh without coughing, travel, and get married, write a book and be able to spend more quality time with family and friends.
