Terrance Jones

On February 9th Terrance Quincy Jones received the telephone call that would save his life and bring him a brighter tomorrow. At only 36 years of age, and after suffering for many years from a progressive form of cardiomyopathy, that he apparently contracted while serving overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan, Terrance was told that he would need a lifesaving heart transplant.

Terrance served his country as a crew chief on Blackhawk helicopters in the United States Army for many years. He served tirelessly in Iraq fighting for the freedom of the United States, risking both his life and his health. He later served his country as a contractor in Afghanistan supporting his brothers in arms. His severe heart failure and cardiomyopathy was said to most likely be a direct result of exposure to a range of environmental and chemical hazards in Iraq and Afghanistan.

After many months of medical testing and hospitalizations, Terrance was finally placed on the active transplant list. He successfully underwent the long life-saving heart transplant surgery at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center. Terrance is now recovering and gaining back more of his strength each and every day. Terrance is a proud young man, and ever so grateful to his family, doctors, and nurses that have sustained him in this most critical time in his life. However, Terrance faces a long and stressful road ahead and he desperately needs your support.

Expenses continue to mount and Terrance is overwhelmed with his ever increasing medical bills and transplant-related expenses. This is a difficult request, but much needed. He needs financial assistance and support more than ever to ease his mind so that he can concentrate on his recovery.

While Terrance is recovering from his heart transplant he will need many months of rehabilitation, physical therapy, follow-up appointments, and home health assistance. He will also require a full-time caregiver, and post-transplant anti-rejection medications. These medications, as well as co-pays and deductibles, medical bills, and living expenses, are quickly adding up to more than Terrance can handle on his own. His loving step-father, Greg and mother, Mary, have been caring for Terrance. However, they continue to work full-time, and spend every minute they aren’t working caring for their son.
