Tiffany is a courageous woman who, as a Certified Medical Assistant and mother, has spent her entire adult life helping in the care of others. However, Tiffany is in now chronic renal failure after battling insulin-dependent diabetes for over 20 years. She has struggled through many medical complications and hospitalizations, and a transplant is her only chance of survival.

Fortunately for Tiffany, she has an amazing friend in “Jeka”. She is a working mother of a beautiful little girl, who also adores Tiffany. When Jeka heard that Tiffany was in end-stage renal disease, and was in desperate need of a kidney transplant, without hesitation, she offered to donate one of her kidneys, and save Tiffany’s life. It’s not surprising to those of us who know Jeka, that she would make such a selfless offer.

Currently, Tiffany is on the kidney transplant wait list while Jeka completes her medical evaluation at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital. Progress is being made. However, due to the extraordinary expense of transplantation, as well as Tiffany’s inability to work, funding this life-saving operation is a monumental task. Despite having medical insurance, there are the costs of Jeka’s time off work, transportation to hospital and clinic visits, and the anti-rejection medications Tiffany will need for the rest of her life that must be paid out-of-pocket. This is where your assistance is critical.
