Tiffany Ross

Hello, my name is Tiffany. I am a wife and a mother of three. After being severely ill for some time and struggling to walk even a few steps without gasping for air. Although I have never smoked, I was diagnosed in 2024 with a genetic disease called Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. This disease has caused significant damage to my heart and lungs, and I am now in need of a double lung transplant.

Before my illness, I loved crafting, planning events, and—most importantly—spending time with my family. Unfortunately, my condition has taken away much of my energy and breath, making it difficult to do the things I once loved. My children see this change. I worry about the emotional affect on my children watching my decline. While they are incredibly understanding, it is heartbreaking to know I cannot be there for them in the ways I want to be.

I am blessed with a wonderful husband who does everything and more for our family. Watching the toll this journey has taken on him is incredibly difficult. We do our best to stay strong, positive, and grateful, but some days are simply harder than others. The emotional and mental strain we have already endured is only a small part of what lies ahead.

The transplant process will involve months of rehabilitation, frequent medical appointments, multiple surgeries, and a significant financial burden. Beyond medical bills and equipment, we must also adapt our daily lives and home to meet my health needs—everything from securing reliable transportation to purchasing air purifiers. We do not ask for help lightly, but the reality is that we cannot manage all of this on our own.

We have already lost the majority of our household income due to my inability to work and my husband needing to take on odd jobs when possible while also caring for me and supporting our children. Despite our efforts to give our kids as normal a life as possible, the struggle has been overwhelming.

Our hope is that this transplant will give me the opportunity to live a fuller life again—to walk alongside my family, play basketball with my daughter, and simply exist without constant exhaustion.
