I’ve learned a lot about transplants. The most important thing is that most organ transplants give the gift of life; either by extending or improving quality. Transplants come in the form of many things, Organs, tissue, and eye are the most well known. Do you know anyone that has a cadaver acl? But there is always costs and maintenance.

In early 2020 I was diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the liver later that year Chronic Kidney disease. Over the course of the year my condition degraded, and I was added to the deceased donor transplant list for a liver, and received a liver transplant on 12/4/2020. I experienced normal recovery complications such as rejection, and bile duct issues; requiring months of hospital visits, procedures and testing.

My already damaged kidneys continued to take impacts from these procedures and medications required to regain health. In late November of 2021 I was placed on the deceased donor transplant list for a Kidney. I received a Kidney on 12/09/2021.

After transplant surgery for the rest of a patient’s life; medications, copays, insurance premiums, follow up visits, and procedures are the largest expenses. I chose this fundraising organization because people may forget the long term needs of patients who have undergone transplant surgery. Please help raise funds for the Midwest/West Transplant Fund!

Family and friends of Tucker Brown are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation. Help Hope Live funds are placed in a regional fund supporting dialysis patients, transplant patients and catastrophic injury patients in this region.
