Dear Friends and Family,

As you probably already know, my dad Vince Yackery, recently suffered a life changing spinal cord injury that none of us could have anticipated. The hard working, religiously dedicated family man we all once knew is currently bound to a wheelchair and hospital bed, for the first time in his life dependent on the care of others. Up until now, you could count on Vince to be up before the sun, working out and headed to the train by 6 a.m. Now a quadriplegic, he is redirecting that focus to his intensive therapy and rehabilitation program.

In spite of the many struggles he and our family face, Vince remains hopeful that he will return to a productive life with the continued support of family and friends. We are preparing to make several home modifications in order to make it handicap accessible, and purchase a specialized vehicle that will provide him with greater mobility and independence.

In order to make Vince’s new dreams possible, a fundraising campaign has been established with Help Hope Live, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting those who have sustained a catastrophic injury. All contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Northeast Spinal Cord Injury Fund, and administered by Help Hope Live for injury-related expenses only.
