Zephan M Cantu

Hi, my name is Zephan Cantu and I am 11 years old. My family and friends call me Z-Man. I have cerebral palsy, global development delays, congenital cmv, seizure disorder, and chronic lung disease. I have a tracheostomy and a g-tube. I have appointments in Indianapolis at Riley’s Children’s Hospital. I have at least an appointment a month, sometimes up to 3! Most of my appointments I have are in Indy but I do have some in South Bend as well.

We are doing a fundraiser to help us get a new van. My mom and dad have to pick me up and put me in my car seat and have to pick up my wheelchair in the back of the van. I just had surgery last month on my arm. That makes transfers more difficult to do right now.

We discovered that our van we found cannot be converted, as it is too old. So the search starts again.

Back in February I had a sleep study done. during my sleep study I had 34 events. Events during a sleep study means I could have stop breathing for a period of time. Which now means at night I have to use a ventilator to help me. Before i can use it my mom and dad have to be trained on how to use it. To be trained on it on have to stay at the hospital for about a week. Being on the ventilator will also mean more appointments in Indy to make sure i will do okay on it.

Any donations will go towards getting a new wheelchair accessible vehicle and will help with travel costs to go to my doctor appointments. Any and all donations are very well appreciated.
