Hussein Hikmat

Hussein Hikmat is a bright, social, and vibrant boy who is currently 13 years old and will be turning 14 next month. Since birth, Hussein has been facing complex medical challenges, including Cerebral Palsy (CP), Hirschsprung disease, and Agenesis of the corpus callosum. Due to these multi-system diagnoses, he is entirely dependent on a wheelchair for his mobility and relies on a G-tube for his daily nutrition, requiring multiple specialized medical appointments every month.

Despite his daily physical battles, Hussein is incredibly smart and loves life. He thoroughly enjoys going out on picnics, exploring new surroundings, and has a wonderful talent for making new friends wherever he goes. However, as he grows into a 14-year-old young man, manual transfers have become an immense physical struggle and a major safety risk for both him and our family. His treating physician, Dr. Megan Knowles, MD, has issued an official Letter of Medical Necessity stating that Hussein urgently requires a Wheelchair Accessible Van with a ramp/lift. This vehicle is not just for medical appointments and school; it is his gateway to safely enjoying the outdoor outings he loves and connecting with the community and friends that bring him so much joy.
