Jason Matthis

Jason Matthis, is a 45-year-old man dedicated to treating all God’s people with love and respect. Jason came into the world 3 minutes, older than his Identical twin brother but he insist that it matters and finds hilarious ways to keep reminding him. He also has a kid sister who at times can be mistaken as the twins mother when it comes to keeping them in line. Jason is intelligent, witty and honest to a fault.. He is cherished and admired by his family and friends. Jason is extremely hard-working and loves his Dachshund daughter name Regina or Reggie as he calls her. But, Jason went for an annual appointment and faced a sudden and serious health crisis on February 17th. He was rushed to the Cardiovascular Center of Corewell Health Hospitals with severe breathing difficulties. His heart was only functioning at 12%, requiring immediate intervention, including a stent placement and a catheter in his neck. Despite intensive efforts, Jason now awaits a heart transplant. An initial surgery to implant an LVad device was unsuccessful due to extensive heart damage, and he was on a ventilator to stabilize his condition. Since then he has developed Covid so now the wait has become longer for the cardiovascular team of doctors to be able go in and retry the surgery again. The surgery to install the device is only a temporary fix, and Jason’s stay in the hospital will be lengthy. Jason’s prognosis means he cannot return to work and could one day be in danger of being homeless. Until Jason receives a new heart he lives a life of uncertainty. His family is deeply distressed and overwhelmed by the mounting medical expenses, facing financial hardship. They humbly ask for your prayers and donations to support Jason’s recovery.
