Hello Family and friends

First we want to thank everyone who has been following our journey with prayers, love, and support. We feel incredibly blessed God has sustained us thus far and we fully believe that He will continue giving us strength and courage to move forward. With that we are reaching out because our dad, John Longoria, needs your help. He’s preparing for a heart transplant after years of battling heart problems, and we’re trying to ease the financial burden of the road ahead.

A little about our dad, he is a caring, hard-working man who loves his family. He has been married to his wife Jennifer (Hauck) Longoria for 31 years and together they share three children, Austin Longoria, Ashley Lee, and Makaylee Hill. John is also the proud Pops to 5 little girls, Maicie, Hattie, Aiyana, Sadie and Sophie all are under the age of 4. Our dad’s favorite fall pass time is attending Kansas State Football games, GO CATS! He has spent the past 40+ years working in the agricultural industry from cattle and feed, to technology and sales with plans to continue after his procedure and recovery. 

Some of you may be wondering what led to our dad needing a heart transplant. It all began in 2014 when he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure.The fluid build up around his heart caused a portion of his heart to lose function. In 2019 an ICD or Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator (pacemaker/defibulator) was implanted to aid in stabilizing his heart in the event it chose to fail. This device was successful in keeping his heart functioning at 50% until 2024 when he was hospitalized due to specific arrhythmias in the lower ventricles of the heart known as V-tach causing his pacemaker to shock him multiple times to bring it back into rhythm. Once stabilized a new ICD was placed, one better suited for the extensive damage his heart had now taken . Although the pacemaker was successful in keeping his heart in rhythm for a few months he kept having arrhythmias. Ultimately his heart had suffered too much damage and his doctors agreed the best course of action would be a heart transplant. After extensive testing and evaluation he was accepted as a candidate for a heart transplant!

Funds donated here will help with the medically required temporary relocation nearest the heart hospital for the first 3-6 months after the transplant. These funds will also be available for the ongoing out of pocket expenses incurred for all follow up appointments throughout his life.
