Kimberly B (Swigonski) Maniglia

My name is Kim Maniglia, and I’m a lifelong resident of Geauga County.  I was in a life-threatening car accident in 1984 that took my brother’s life and took my ability to walk, leaving me isolated in a wheelchair for the past 42 years.  Because I had not had the opportunity to earn social security credits at that young age, very little was available to me when I became a young adult.

I had to work hard to learn to operate a vehicle through hand controls, and I did my best to go to work every day and earn my way.  

Now, I’m 57, and my shoulders are falling apart. I’m still paralyzed from the waist down, and my van that provides my ability to get to the store to grocery shop, to get to work, and earn enough money to pay my bills (and my vehicle payment) is about to quit running on me.  The engine is on its last legs.  I need help!  I’m looking for help either raising funds to purchase a new motor and have it installed in the existing van or raising enough funds to trade this one in for another

Family and friends of Kimberly (Swigonski) Maniglia are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a catastrophic injury. Kimberly has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.
