A Step Toward Greater Independence

One of my goals right now is something many people may take for granted: being able to get in my vehicle and go where I need to go, on my own.

I have lived with primary progressive multiple sclerosis for over 13 years. MS has changed how I navigate everyday life, but it hasn’t changed my desire to live fully, be present for my family, and continue doing the things God has placed on my heart.

Today, I use a walker and rely on an electric scooter when I’m out. Taking that scooter anywhere requires my children or other family members to take it apart, lift it into my vehicle, travel with me, and put it back together when we arrive.

I’m grateful for their help. At the same time, I want to regain more of the independence I once had.

My vehicle cannot support a traditional hitch-mounted scooter lift, so I need a specially designed wheeled carrier that supports its own weight. I’m also preparing for a professional driving evaluation to determine what adaptive equipment, including possible hand controls, will allow me to return to driving safely.

My fundraising goal is $5,000 to help purchase and install the carrier and contribute toward the adaptive driving equipment I’ll need. That amount may change once my driving evaluation is complete and I know exactly what adaptive equipment I qualify for.

Contributions are managed through Help Hope Live, with payments made directly to the equipment vendors.

I’m a mother of four, an author, a speaker, and the founder of RAID, Radically Alive in Deliverance. I have a family to love, a calling to walk out, and a life I still want to experience.

This journey isn’t about returning to who I used to be. It’s about learning to live fully in the season I’m in now, while continuing to move forward.

If you feel led to support this next step, whether through a contribution or by sharing my story, I would be grateful.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

Blessings Always,

Kimberly Rodriguez
