My father has spent the last several years fighting a battle that no family ever expects to face. Due to complications from diabetes, his kidneys failed, and he was diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). Since then, dialysis has become a part of his everyday life and is necessary for him to survive.

Three times each week, my father undergoes dialysis treatments that can leave him exhausted and physically drained. What most people don’t see are the sacrifices, appointments, procedures, medications, and constant uncertainty that come with living with kidney failure. Despite these challenges, he continues to fight with courage and determination.

Throughout this journey, he has endured numerous medical procedures to maintain his dialysis access, including the creation of a fistula and additional vascular procedures. He has also faced complications related to diabetes that have affected other aspects of his health, including his vision.

Our family’s hope is a kidney transplant. A successful transplant would not only free him from the demands of dialysis but also give him the opportunity to enjoy more years with his children, family, and loved ones.

Unfortunately, the financial burden associated with transplantation is overwhelming. While insurance helps cover some medical expenses, many costs remain, including transportation to appointments, medications, follow-up care, lodging when necessary, and other transplant-related expenses that quickly add up.

My father is a hardworking, loving man who has always put his family first. Now, our family is asking for help as we support him through this life-changing journey. Every donation, prayer, and share of this campaign brings us one step closer to helping him receive the care he needs and easing the financial stress that comes with it.
