Liezl Zanoria

Hi, my name is Liezl. I am a bookworm, romance reader, and Taylor Swift fan, and I am working with a crowdfunding organization called Help Live Hope to start a campaign to hopefully get a wheelchair-accessible van. Crowdfunding is my last resort. I’ve written to government offices and news stations to share my story and ask if they can connect me with someone willing to donate a van, but I’ve received zero responses. I previously had a wheelchair-accessible van, but it is unreliable, and when we took it in for repairs, they told my dad I was better off. Getting a new van is easier said than done because wheelchair access on the end costs between 40,000 

and that’s beyond our means. I tried applying for grants to get wheelchair-accessible vans, but that option didn’t work for me either because the grant only covers a certain amount for the vehicle, and my family has to cover the rest. Since my car broke down, I’ve had all my doctor’s appointments through telehealth because I can’t go in person. I have missed my nieces’ and nephews’ birthday parties because it’s hard to get there due to the logistics, since I don’t have an accessible van. Someone has to lift me into the car, and that’s hard on everyone because my siblings don’t live with me, and I don’t want to have to ask my dad. He is older, and even though he could technically transfer me to the car, I don’t want him to because of his health, so I’ve chosen to skip family occasions for that reason. My parents don’t even know I’m doing this; I’m doing this myself.

I’m sharing my story online to request donations for a new wheelchair-accessible van to make life easier for my family. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. I would be forever grateful if you could make this bookworm’s wish a reality.
