Stepping Forward: Restoring Freedom and Function for Lilia Reynaga

Help Lilia Reynaga Rebuild Her Independence

A $500,000 campaign for mobility, purpose, and healing

On July 11, 2026, Lilia Reynaga’s life changed in an instant. While tubing at Bear Lake, she was struck by a boat propeller and suffered catastrophic injuries that resulted in the loss of both legs.

Bystanders rushed to help, applying tourniquets before emergency responders arrived. Authorities credited their swift actions with saving her life. She was flown to the hospital and underwent multiple surgeries, beginning a recovery that would reshape daily life for her and her family.

Today, Lilia is working toward a future with greater mobility, renewed purpose, and room to heal. She has fought to remain here for the people she loves. Now, we are asking our community and corporate partners to help make her next chapter possible.

Our goal is to raise $500,000 for Help Hope Live in honor of Lilia to help meet her medical and recovery-related needs.

Before the accident, Lilia’s work as a Realtor centered on helping others find a place to call home. Returning to real estate is now one of her own goals—a way to reconnect with her professional purpose, serve clients, and regain a measure of independence.

Reaching that goal will require rehabilitation, appropriate equipment, accessible surroundings, and reliable transportation. Her determination deserves practical support.

What your support can help make possible

Prosthetics and rehabilitation: Help with appropriate prosthetic limbs, fitting and adjustments, and the therapy needed to learn how to use them safely. Her mobility plan will develop with her care team as she heals.

A vehicle adapted for independence: Help obtaining a suitable vehicle with hand controls and necessary accessibility adaptations, along with evaluation and training for safe driving. Accessible transportation can connect Lilia to treatment, family activities, and eventually her work.

Accessible housing near physical therapy: Help securing housing for approximately one year closer to her therapy center, with wheelchair access and accommodations that meet her daily needs. A safe place to recover and a shorter journey to treatment can ease the demands of rehabilitation. Friends of Lilia Reynaga are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a catastrophic injury. Lilia has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.
