Lynton Dadyala
APOLLO BEACH, FL
Before 2021, Lynton led an active, thriving life—building a successful career negotiating and closing major contracts. However, a severe case of COVID-19 caused extensive, life-altering damage that completely reshaped his daily life. Family and friends of Lynton Dadyala are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a transplant. Lynton has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.
Diagnosis
Managing severe post-COVID complications, Lynton is now waiting for a kidney transplant as he continues recovering from severe lung damage. He relies on round-the-clock supplemental oxygen to breathe and recently underwent an emergency arterial stent procedure following a second wave of COVID-19.
Personality
An avid DIY enthusiast, creative designer, and automotive aficionado, Lynton has always been known for his problem-solving mindset and determination. Whether he is working on hands-on home projects or spending quality time with his wife Hadassa and their 2 cats, Belly and Button, or visiting with his daughter, son-in-law and grandson, or mother and siblings, Lynton brings energy, resilience, and heart to everything he does.
Medical Challenges
Living with constant oxygen dependence created a difficult medical “catch-22,” leading to initial transplant center rejections until his oxygen status can be stabilized. Additionally, prolonged bed rest and recovery led to severe cartilage loss in his spine and hips, requiring a hip replacement just to regain painful mobility.
Need to Fundraise
Transitioning to disability cost Lynton his prime earning years and contract commissions he earned were withheld by his former employer because of transitioning to disability. While medical therapies not covered by insurance have been vital in rebuilding his strength for surgery, they have depleted his savings. Lynton is fundraising with Help Hope Live to cover out-of-pocket medical expenses, pre-transplant travel and lodging, non-covered therapies, and essential living costs during recovery.
Hope for the Future
Lynton is fighting every day to regain his health and strength so he can qualify for and successfully undergo transplant surgery. He looks forward to breathing independently, regaining painless mobility, and enjoying quality time with his family and community.
