Mario A Hernandez

Family and friends of Mario Hernandez are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a transplant. Mario has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.

Mario Hernandez is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who has faced significant health challenges with strength and resilience. He has been married to Silvia Hernandez for 29 years. He suffered a heart attack on October 29, 2025, and later received a heart transplant on March 21, 2026. Since his diagnosis, he has been on a journey of recovery and healing. Mario is the proud father of three children—Mario Hernandez II (35), Victoria Hernandez (28), and Aliya Hernandez (24)—and a loving grandfather to five grandchildren: Alyssa (8), Aleyna (7), Alexander (4), Anthony (3), and Matthew (8 months).

Mario is a true outdoorsman who feels most at home in nature. He has a deep love for hunting, fishing, and anything that gets him outside. Above all, he treasures the time he spends with his family, especially his grandchildren, who bring him endless joy. Mario has been facing challenges with regaining weight and rebuilding muscle strength since his heart attack and, more recently, following his heart transplant. As a recent transplant patient, his recovery includes working to restore his physical health while adjusting to the changes that come with this new stage in his healing journey.

We are raising funds to help cover the financial burden associated with Mario’s recovery, including insurance out-of-pocket expenses, copayments, and the cost of necessary medications. Your support will help ease these ongoing expenses and allow him to focus on healing and rebuilding his strength. This fundraising campaign will help ease the financial stress that comes with Mario’s recovery, allowing your family to focus more fully on his healing and well-being. With support covering out-of-pocket expenses, copayments, and medications, it will provide greater stability and peace of mind during this challenging time. Ultimately, it will create space for Mario to rebuild his strength and for your family to spend more meaningful time together without the constant worry of financial strain.
