GREAT NEWS! Mark received the gift of life – a new liver – on November 3, 2015 from his nephew, Tim. Thankfully, they are both doing well and we are so grateful for this life-saving gift. Keep checking back for updates.

As many of you know, Mark was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Choliangitis, a life-threatening liver disease, in the summer of 2003. Over the last decade, the disease has slowly progressed and we realized a liver transplant would become a necessity at some point in the future. Now, the time has come where Mark can no longer survive without a life-saving transplant.

We are beyond grateful for our nephew Timothy, who is giving Mark the gift of life. After extensive testing to ensure they are a good match, Timothy is donating a part of his liver to Mark. He has willingly offered this gift and is ready to face the difficult surgery for Mark’s benefit.

Timothy’s gift will save Mark’s life, but the procedure will be very expensive for us. There are many pre- and post-transplant related expenses for Mark and Timothy that are not covered by their insurance.
