Michelle Aracely Ramirez

Family and friends of Michelle Ramirez are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a transplant. Michelle has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.

Michelle is a 43-year-old wife, mother of two, and dedicated high school cosmetology teacher who has spent more than 16 years helping students build careers and achieve their dreams.

For more than six years, Michelle has worked incredibly hard to take control of her health. Through dedication to diet and exercise, she has lost more than 100 pounds and has worked tirelessly to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Her biggest motivation has always been her family. Michelle wants to be as healthy as possible so she can continue making memories with her husband and her two children, ages 11 and 9.

Michelle has also spent her career helping prepare the next generation of hairstylists. As a cosmetology teacher, she takes great pride in watching her students learn, grow, and work toward becoming licensed professionals.

Outside of the classroom, Michelle treasures her time with her family. She enjoys taking her son to karate, shopping with her daughter at Five Below, building flower LEGO sets, and watching Marvel movies with her husband. These everyday moments with the people she loves mean everything to her.

Unfortunately, Michelle’s health journey has now brought her to a point where she will need a kidney transplant.

Even with her diagnosis, Michelle continues to follow a strict diet and do everything she can to maintain her health and weight. She is still working with her students and giving them the same dedication she always has. However, her condition has made everyday life increasingly difficult. She becomes tired very frequently and often needs to take breaks throughout the school day.

When she gets home, Michelle frequently experiences swelling in her feet. She also struggles to sleep because of painful muscle cramps and the constant worry about what the future may bring. One of her biggest concerns is how her health will affect her ability to care for her children as her condition progresses.

Michelle has spent years caring for others—her students, her children, and her family. Now, she needs a little help caring for herself.

She is raising funds to help cover the financial challenges that come with her kidney transplant. Her anticipated medical deductible is approximately $8,000, and she expects to be out of work for approximately 8 weeks following surgery. During that time, she anticipates around $4,000 in additional living expenses.

Her fundraising goal will help provide approximately $12,000 toward these expenses, allowing Michelle to focus on her recovery and, most importantly, getting healthy enough to return home to her family.

Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, sharing Michelle’s story with friends, family, and your community would mean just as much.

Michelle has spent years helping others find their confidence, build their futures, and become the best versions of themselves. Now, she is asking for help as she fights for the opportunity to continue being the wife, mother, teacher, and friend she has always been.

Thank you for supporting Michelle and her family during this difficult journey. Every donation, prayer, kind thought, and share brings her one step closer to the healthy future she is fighting for.
