Thank you for visiting my page and taking a moment to read my story.

My name is Morgan Owens-Holsinger and I am 40 years old. I am a spouse to my wonderful partner and a parent to two amazing children. My family is my absolute world. For the past few years, we have been navigating a challenging health journey together, and today, we are reaching out for your help.

In October 2023, I was diagnosed with lupus nephritis, an autoimmune condition where the body attacks its own kidneys. This diagnosis led to Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), which progressed much faster than any of us anticipated. Today, I am in End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), meaning my kidneys can no longer keep up with what my body needs to survive.

My best chance at a long, healthy life—and at watching my children grow up—is a kidney transplant. Because of my blood type, I am actively searching for a kidney donor with Type O blood (O-positive or O-negative).

A living donation is a profound gift that would drastically shorten my time on the waiting list and give me the best possible long-term outcome. If you or someone you know is Type O and has ever considered being a living donor, your choice could quite literally save my life. The donor’s medical expenses are fully covered by my insurance, and you can live a completely normal, healthy life with one kidney.

While we search for a match, the financial reality of this journey is also overwhelming. The costs associated with a kidney transplant go far beyond the surgery itself. The funds raised through this campaign will directly support:

• Pre-transplant care: Frequent medical evaluations, specialized testing, and travel to and from the transplant center.

• The surgery and hospitalization: Inpatient stays and surgical fees for both myself and my donor.

• Post-transplant lifelong expenses: Costly, mandatory immunosuppressant (anti-rejection) medications that I must take every single day.

• Living expenses: Covering regular family bills during the months of mandatory recovery when I will be unable to work.

Being 40 with a spouse and two kids means I have a lifetime of memories left to make. I want to be there for every graduation, every milestone, and every everyday moment with my family.
