Paytin Mallory

Paytin brings joy to everyone she meets. She never meets a stranger, and her smile is the first thing people notice — warm, bright, and full of love. Even through the hardest moments, she continues to shine. Born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, Paytin had her first open‑heart surgery just days after birth. Since then, she has endured multiple open‑heart surgeries, countless procedures, and many hospitalizations. Early in her journey, she suffered a brain bleed that left her with lifelong cognitive challenges. Although she is now 18, she does not have the mind of an 18‑year‑old and requires continuous care from her mom and her Mimi.

Her medical journey has been long, exhausting, and filled with setbacks, but Paytin keeps fighting. She has spent more time in hospitals than most people do in a lifetime, and now she faces her biggest challenge yet — she is officially on the heart transplant list. Her transplant and recovery will take place at Oklahoma City Children’s Hospital, where she will need extensive, around‑the‑clock care before, during, and long after surgery. Her caregivers will have to miss work for an extended period to stay by her side, support her recovery, and manage her daily needs.

This fundraiser through Help Hope Live will help cover the many additional expenses and medical needs that insurance will not cover. These include specialized equipment, medications, tests, travel and lodging for transplant care, and the basic living expenses her caregivers will lose while missing work to provide the constant care she will require.
